Brunch, Blooms, and Boutiques: Your Mother's Day Roadmap
Psst... Mom wants to spend a day in charming, historic Port Washington for Mother's Day! It's not too late to plan the perfect Mother's Day weekend for the special mom in your life, and there's no better setting than our harbor town that feels like a vacation in itself.
1. The "Brunch" Stop
Mother's Day Brunch is a beloved tradition, and we have options that come with a side of lake views. The Steerage is already known for its Sunday Brunch, but they up the ante for moms with a brunch buffet. The Beacon in The Harborview Hotel is a lakeside gem with sundrenched views of the West Slip and delicious bites. Or enjoy the historic charm of Moonlight Tavern in the old Port Hotel. They might be a supperclub, but they know how to make moms feel special with a delicious brunch for the occasion. Bonus -- stay the night at the historic The Port Hotel and wake up to the delicious aroma of the brunch down in Moonlight Tavern!
You could also keep it simple with a great coffee -- try the Sacred Bean at Cavelier Wine Bar, Java Dock Cafe for a townie experience, or Tulip Cafe at Hollander Chocolate.
2. The "Blooms" Stop
Make the weekend extra special with the all-new event Petals in Port: A Spring Flower Walk on Saturday, May 9th. Stroll through downtown collecting beautiful felt flower stems, sipping tea, sampling tea sandwiches and sweets, and exploring the shops and boutiques. Get your tickets before they sell out!
You can also get your hands dirty as you plant your own potted plant at the Verbosity Bookhouse Succulent Bar or the Locally Inspired Plant Bar. Now an annual tradition, at the Plant Bar, you walk away with your very own creation.
3. The "Boutique" Stop
Port Washington's historic downtown is perfect for a leisurely stroll through the charming shops, all just steps from the beautiful harbor.
Artisan Finds: Handmade jewelry, art or home decor from The Purple Turtle Artisan Collective, Art Perspective Gallery, Locally Inspired, or Eclectic Avenue.
The Foodie Finds: Local farm products at DreamPort Harvest Market, Bernie's vintage butcher shop, The Spice & Tea Exchange.
Women's Boutiques: Clothing and accessories at Happenstance, Lillian Casuals, and Pear & Simple.
4. The "Bonus" Creative Stop
Our Paint on Port murals make the perfect "Mom & Me" photo op. Experience the 13 new murals, finding the best backdrops for your Mother's Day photos.
Stop in the new Verbosity Bookhouse before 6 pm on May 9th to get your Mother's Day Raffle tickets. Raffle drawing at 6 pm sharp -- no need to be present.
We can't wait to welcome you and the special moms in your life to Port Washington for a weekend that will leave you feeling loved and pampered... and maybe a little creatively inspired!
